SURGICAL SERVICES OFFERED AT ADVANCED EYE

CATARACT SURGERY

The staff at our facility have performed over 50,000 cataract surgeries, making them one of the most experienced teams in the region.

Laser Assisted Cataract Surgery

1

Laser cataract surgery uses a femtosecond laser to perform the most precise parts of the operation. The laser creates accurate incisions, softens the cataract, and makes a perfectly shaped opening in the lens capsule. This improves consistency, reduces the amount of ultrasound needed, and enhances the accuracy of lens placement. Patients who choose femto often want the most advanced and refined option for achieving the sharpest visual outcome.

Eyhance Toric Lenses to Correct Astigmatism with Extended Range of Focus

The Eyhance Toric lens corrects astigmatism and provides sharper distance vision with a smoother transition to intermediate tasks. Patients notice clearer computer and dashboard vision and typically use reading glasses only for small print. This is an excellent choice for patients who want high-quality distance vision with improved functional range.

Odyssey IOL for Maximal Depth of Focus

The Odyssey lens offers a very wide range of vision with minimal halos or glare. It maintains clarity across distance, intermediate, and many near tasks, allowing greater independence from glasses. Patients who want strong day-to-day freedom without the light disturbances of older multifocals benefit the most from this lens.

Light Adjustable Lenses for Optimal Vision in Complex Cases

The Light Adjustable Lens is the only implant that can be customized after surgery. Once the eye heals, the surgeon adjusts the lens using precise light treatments so the final vision matches the patient's preference. This is particularly helpful for individuals with prior LASIK or PRK, irregular astigmatism, or complex prescriptions. It delivers some of the most accurate results available.

Refractive Lens Exchange

This procedure replaces the natural lens with a premium implant to improve vision and reduce dependence on glasses even in patients who do not yet have visually significant cataracts. It is useful for those seeking long-term visual freedom.

REFRACTIVE SURGERY

Our center offers the widest array of vision correction surgery to safely provide patients with freedom from glasses and contacts.

ALL-LASER LASIK

LASIK reshapes the cornea with a precision laser to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. Vision is often much clearer within a few hours. Patients typically report minimal discomfort, rapid recovery, and significantly reduced dependence on glasses or contacts. LASIK is ideal for healthy eyes with stable prescriptions.dd a description about this item

PRK (Photo-Refractive Keratectomy)

PRK uses the same excimer laser as LASIK but does not involve creating a corneal flap. It is well suited for patients with thinner corneas, irregular corneal shapes, or those who prefer to avoid flap-related issues. Vision recovery takes longer than LASIK, although long-term results are excellent.

ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens)

ICL surgery involves placing a soft lens inside the eye, behind the iris. It is an excellent option for patients with high prescriptions, chronic dry eye, or corneas that are not suitable for laser procedures. Vision is crisp almost immediately and the lens can be removed or replaced if needed.

CORNEAL TRANSPLANT SURGERY

Our surgeons and nurses are among the most expereinced in the country at managing the full array of corneal transplants. The gift a donor and their family makes is a blessing we feel fortunate to share with patients in need.

Endotheilal Keratoplasty (DSEK/DMEK with DescePrep ©)

Endothelial keratoplasty replaces only the diseased inner cell layer of the cornea rather than the full thickness. DMEK offers the fastest visual recovery and the most natural optical outcomes, while DSEK provides additional support for complex eyes. With DescePrep © https://www.eyedeamedical.com, graft preparation is more controlled and predictable, reducing trauma and improving consistency. Patients typically experience steady improvement in clarity over several weeks, with excellent long‑

Deep Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty with DesceCleave ©

DALK replaces the front layers of the cornea while preserving the patient’s own endothelium, dramatically reducing the risk of graft rejection. The DesceCleave © technique provides a more precise separation between layers, resulting in clearer graft interfaces and more reliable healing. DALK is particularly effective for conditions such as keratoconus and stromal dystrophies, offering strong long‑term outcomes and reduced risk of postoperative pressure issues.

Laser-Assisted Corneal Lamellar Keratoplasty

Laser‑assisted lamellar keratoplasty uses advanced imaging and femtosecond laser technology to reshape or replace targeted corneal layers. The precision of the laser creates smooth, accurate tissue planes, improving graft fit and visual quality. This technique benefits patients with corneal scars, thinning disorders, surface irregularities, or early ectasia, offering faster recovery and more consistent results.

CAIRS (Corneal Allogenic Intrastromal Ring Segments) for Keratoconus

CAIRS is a minimally invasive procedure that uses biologic donor corneal tissue segments to reshape and stabilize the cornea in keratoconus. Because the segments are made of natural tissue rather than synthetic material, they integrate more comfortably, reduce long‑term risk of extrusion, and better preserve corneal health. The segments are placed into laser‑created stromal channels to regularize corneal shape, reduce irregular astigmatism, and improve functional vision. CAIRS maintains future

GLAUCOMA SURGERY

Insurance often covers these minimally invasive procedures to treat patients with glaucoma. Studies show they can reduce the need for current or future medications, resulting in cost savings over daily medication dependence. Most can be performed as an adjunct to cataract surgery, reducing visits to the operating room.

ECP Laser (Endoscopic Cyclophotocoagulation)

ECP gently treats the tissue inside the eye that produces fluid, helping lower eye pressure. It is often paired with cataract surgery. Many patients are able to decrease the number of glaucoma drops they use afterward.

Surical Goniotomy / Canaloplasty

These procedures enhance the eye's natural drainage system. Goniotomy removes a small strip of tissue that blocks drainage. Canaloplasty opens and dilates the eye’s main drainage canal to improve outflow. Both are minimally invasive options that help lower pressure while maintaining normal anatomy.

Minimally Invasive Stent Procedures

Microscopic stents are placed inside the drainage system to improve fluid flow and lower eye pressure. These procedures are quick, safe, and usually performed with cataract surgery. They often reduce a patient's reliance on daily glaucoma medications.

EYELID / UPPER FACE PLASTIC SURGERY

We work with insurance to obtain the maximum allowable coverage for plastic surgery of the eyelids and upper face.

Upper Eyelid Ptosis/Blepharoplasty (Droppy Eyelids)

Droopy eyelids can block the upper visual field, cause fatigue, and create a heavy appearance. Ptosis repair and blepharoplasty lift the eyelid by tightening the eyelid muscle and removing excess skin. Patients often notice improved vision, less strain, and a more refreshed look. Recovery is usually straightforward, with most swelling fading within one to two weeks.

Lower Eyelid Repair

Lower eyelid repair repositions the eyelid to improve comfort and reduce tearing or eye exposure. It stabilizes the tear film, prevents irritation, and creates a smoother lower lid contour. Patients often notice improvement in comfort and appearance within several days.

Entropion / Ectropion Repair (Abnormal Turning of Eyelids)

Entropion causes the eyelid to turn inward and irritate the eye, while ectropion causes the lid to turn outward and expose the eye. Repairing these conditions restores normal eyelid position, protects the eye, and prevents long-term surface damage.
